Well, we’re finally here. The brand new comics drawn by my good friend Richard Laosen (but still revised by me). I was pretty instantaneously happy with his art when I saw the 2nd and 3rd panels. I don’t think I ever would have thought to draw them in that way, but both are great for different reasons.
The second panel is so elegant but when I was writing it, I imagined a panel that was zoomed out so you couldn’t really see either person nor the thrusters being thrown onto the table. It would have required a lot of background art and most likely failed to help the reader instantly know what was happening. The third is great because it’s simple yet hilarious. It’s exaggerated in an almost Teen Titans way while still staying realistic enough to not break the style completely. Here’s hoping this is just the beginning and both Richard and I can keep at this for an extended period of time.
I would love to update this comic more frequently because I know waiting a week for a black and white 4 panel comic isn’t very exciting given the alternatives out there, but I also don’t want to bite off more than I can chew. It only took 4 comics for me to lose interest doing things by myself… so the last thing I want to do is take advantage of this situation and rush into something that would burn me out just as fast.
