This seemed a lot more interesting when I was scripting it out. Not a shot at the artist at all… more at myself. Didn’t quite realize how much this would look like needless filler. But that’s what it is! I probably could have shoehorned this entire comic into one or two panels in the last comic. Oh well! I never claimed to be a master storyteller.
Gotta love how villains have that dramatic impossible shadow to them when they aren’t ready to reveal themselves. Maybe if they just never openly revealed themselves they could commit a lot more crime just sneaking around all blanketed in shadow.
Also I’m fully aware of the discrepancies between this shot of the house and the last time you saw it in an aerial view (008). The artist drew it differently and I didn’t catch it until after I had already drawn the thing so I just went with it.

I’ve been told by a couple people that it’s not perfectly clear what is happening in the final panel. So let me kill any chance of it being funny by explaining it: he’s desperately jamming whatever he can get his hands on into his clothes in order to steal them. He is a horrendous kleptomaniac.
If you go back and look at the first comic, you can see I added color. It took forever and I really don’t think it makes it look all that much better. So instead of redoing every comic in color and making any new ones in color as well, I think I’m going to to take the opposite approach and go for a simpler 6 tone black and white comic. I’m pretty happy with it overall, but I may continue to tweak my style as the comic goes on. Only time will tell!

Well, we’re finally here. The brand new comics drawn by my good friend Richard Laosen (but still revised by me). I was pretty instantaneously happy with his art when I saw the 2nd and 3rd panels. I don’t think I ever would have thought to draw them in that way, but both are great for different reasons.
The second panel is so elegant but when I was writing it, I imagined a panel that was zoomed out so you couldn’t really see either person nor the thrusters being thrown onto the table. It would have required a lot of background art and most likely failed to help the reader instantly know what was happening. The third is great because it’s simple yet hilarious. It’s exaggerated in an almost Teen Titans way while still staying realistic enough to not break the style completely. Here’s hoping this is just the beginning and both Richard and I can keep at this for an extended period of time.
I would love to update this comic more frequently because I know waiting a week for a black and white 4 panel comic isn’t very exciting given the alternatives out there, but I also don’t want to bite off more than I can chew. It only took 4 comics for me to lose interest doing things by myself… so the last thing I want to do is take advantage of this situation and rush into something that would burn me out just as fast.

While revising this comic, I was so unhappy with the 3rd panel that I completely redrew it. I’m very happy with the result, especially considering it is the first real thing I’ve drawn from concept to completed work with my new tablet. I also started making these comics much larger since I heard 300 pixels per inch is ideal for printed books… Now this comic just has to get popular enough to warrant printed books!
I’m very aware of the minor problem with the tails on the speech bubbles on the last two panels. I’ve been aware of it since a day or two after posting it… and there they stay… not fixed. Laziness, ho!

Ah, my second comic. Let me preempt some comments here and say I’m well aware of the issues in this one. The biggest one being the size of each floor of that building barely being big enough for people to stand up straight in. Well the jokes on you because it’s actually an office made solely for little people to work and feel… I wanna say “normal” but I know someone in today’s overly politically correct culture will take offense by that.
Before I went and touched it up, the building used to also have windows that would drastically change in size every few seconds. Now they just slightly change!
Anyway, enough nitpicking. Two more to go until the new breed of comics starts!

The very first comic! Instead of starting off with an origin story, I thought it would be more enjoyable (and less work) to just get right into the action. So the first four comics are an introduction to the main character followed by the start of the first major arc.
We’re just starting out here, so if you like what you see, tell your friends!
